Migrant Child Farmworkers to High-Profile Professionals©
Original Documentary Film Preview trt: 5 minutes
An original documentary film featuring the stories of eleven children of immigrant parents. Some faced seemingly overwhelming hardships including homelessness, hunger and poverty. Six of the eleven worked full-time as migrant child farm laborers to help support their families.
Today they are medical doctors, research scientists, engineers, educators, leaders elected to the U.S. Congress and California state government, and a former big law attorney turned Hollywood talent manager. Their impressive accomplishments include authoring hundreds of scientific research papers published in The New England Journal of Medicine; contributing to the development of pivotal Apple products and teaching medicine at Stanford School of Medicine and UCSF Fresno.
This success, in defiance of all odds and adversity, is a testament to the indomitable human spirit. Their ability to turn childhood poverty and hardship into personal and professional triumph showcases what is possible. A timely reminder of the unlimited human potential of every child, no matter background or circumstances. The reason why all children (human beings) are to be treated with dignity, deemed equally important and afforded every opportunity to flourish.
